Good explanation of the differences between advertising, marketing and branding. Of all the problems that i come across in my day to day business not paying any attention to a business's core message is by far the biggest problem.

All too often a company will get a web site designed and some business cards printed never really thinking about how that represents the overall business. This often leads to dollars being spent unnecessarily on advertising and general marketing initiatives that don't work, all because they didn't get the core message right.
