Start With A Logo

A brand is more that a logo, but it’s a start!

Every brand definition on a graphic designer’s page starts with ‘a brand is more than a logo’. And they’re right. A logo is the visual reminder, or representation of your company and what it stands for. It’s your mascot.

Just how you get to your final logo has everything to do with the final result. You usually have two options for having a logo designed:

  1. Designing it yourself – just getting someone else to push the computer buttons.
Surprise! Giving a ‘brief’ (and brief is usually the operative word) to a designer and having them surprise you with the results – and surprises are not always pleasant!
  2. Here’s another option – getting help writing the brief that best describes you and your market, and being guided through the development process so that you not only understand what your new logo means to you, but you also know why it does!

This is the process that should always be taken, but also is often overlooked in favour of the excitement of getting started with pencil to paper, but that is essential to the success of any design. Turning your money spent in to a valuable investment.

Outcome of Brand Design – It starts with a logo:

  • A relevant, professional logo that you not only own emotionally, but also as a tangible asset.
  • You, the client, own the intellectual property to your logo, meaning it really is yours.
